Suzanne Phillips replaces Eric Cohen as Administrative Assistant to the Canons. Cohen bid the Diocese of Mississippi fare well in late August. His short tenure at the Allin House was planned for when he was hired six months ago.
Cohen and his spouse, Ryan, have moved to Birmingham, England where Ryan will be a student at the Birmingham School of Acting for a 13 month course.
Eric says that he’ll be busy taking care of their young son, Preston, and will be seeking work which he can do from his home. With Cohen’s skill set, particularly with computers, he’ll probably have several opportunities come his way.
The Allin House staff welcomes Susanne Phillips as the new Administrative Assistant to the Canons. Suzanne recently returned home to Mississippi from Columbia, SC.
With this position at the Allin House, Suzanne continues a long service of ministry in the Episcopal Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church, which began in 1982 at Grace Church in Canton where she was a parish secretary.
Phillips has also served as Director of Religious Education/Youth Minister, Coordinator of Christian Education, EFM mentor, director of an afterschool/summer camp program, and parish administrator. Additionally, she has worked as a manufacturers’ representative, a director of a non-profit agency for teenage mothers and their babies, and as a bookkeeper.
She is a mother to three children: Rachel, 27, currently living in Port Angeles, Washington; Patrick, 23, soon to graduate from Savannah College of Art & Design; and Phillip, 21, going to college in Clemson, SC. She also has two stepsons, David and Dominic, who live in Columbia, SC.
