Dr. Radner’s talk focused primarily on “The Changing Face of Freedom: the new opportunities and duties of the Anglican Church”. Enthusiastic participants actively engaged in an exchange of conversations that targeted the topics of: The Gospel challenge of religious liberty / the cost of freedom; The power of God’s word in the face of human freedom and oppression; New freedom / gathering under the Word; and The vocation of gathering as Anglican Christians. Whether one agreed or disagreed with Dr. Radner, there was no disputing that he raised essential questions provocatively and clearly. It was an important conference for our time in this diocese, for it touched on themes that are pivotal to our theology, our faith, and our hope for the Church.
