[MSE] Grace Church, Canton is offering a two day retreat to inspire a more fulfilling Bible study experience. Grace rector, the Rev. Jud Meaders, says the two day seminar begins the weekend after Labor Day, Friday Sept. 9 and Saturday the 10 in church parish hall.
“The presenter of the retreat is Tillie Tice, President of the Board of Directors of The Educational Center, which publishes Bible Work Bench,” said Meaders.
“This Bible study method taps your creativity and leads you to engage the text personally before running to the commentaries. It helps us to experience the Bible as a story, an event happening in the world around us, and our own stories as well.”
Meaders says that this new approach to Bible study was developed by the Rev. Bill Dols, Jr., PhD. Dols, an Episcopal Priest who has served parishes in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina, created Bible Workbench in 1993.
