Uganda Visit (update 3)
by The Rt. Rev. Zebedee Masereka
Dear All, Greetings to you all. I hope you are doing well. Please, visit our newly re-designed website at www.bmcf.org to see the new and beautiful look of the site. Take a look at the picture of Bishop Duncan Gray of Mississippi in the gallery laying and blessing the foundation stone for the new medical Clinic for the BMCF (Bishop Masereka Christian Foundation) on 13 July 08 in Kasese, midwestern Uganda.

The function for the laying of the foundation stone went very well. It was a colourful and glorious function. Laying the foundation stone was preceeded by a thanksgiving service attended by hundreds of people at St. Paul's Cathedral, Anglican Church, Kasese on 13 July 08. Bishop Duncan Gray of the Diocese of Mississippi was the preacher of the day. He emphasized the Gospel of oneness of Christ, the Church and the mission. Bishop Gray expressed his gratitude to the Christians of St. Paul's Cathedral and the BMCF for welcoming him so warmly for his first visit to Africa.

The week of 08-14 July 08 was quite hectic for Bishop Duncan Gray and the Rev. Dr. William Ndishabandi who accompanied him. They arrived at Entebbe airport 08 July 08 to a warm and jubilant welcome by about 30 Kasese people who work and live around Entebbe. On Wednesday, 09 July, Bishop Gray was taken for a tour of Namugongo Anglican and Roaman Catholic Martyrs' Shrines. Later in the day Bishop Gray went to visit the source of the famous river Nile in Jinja, Eastern Uganda. In the evening of Wedn 09 July the Bishop was hosted to a supper at Namirembe Guest House with an other 30 Kasese people who live and work in Kampala.

On the way to Kasese via Mbarara, Bishop Gray stopped for lunch at the home of Rev. Dr and Mrs. Ndishabandi in Mbarara, and blessed their new home. On arrival in Kasese at 7:00 PM on 10 July, the Bishop was warmly welcomed by the staff of BMCF, the Board members, and members of the community. A jubilant audience sponteneously took to the floor with Kikonzo traditional dances which the visiting Bishop enjoyed and joined. On 11 July Bishop Gray visited with BMCF staff, toured the Cinic, met BMCF HIV clients, and Kamaiba school. The visit to Kamaiba was very exciting with music, dance and dramma.
On 12 July Bishop Gray went to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park near Kasese, and was very impressed by the various animals in their natural habitat.

Today and tomorrow I will be sending several pictures to the webmaster about Bishop Gray's visit to Kasese and other parts of Uganda, and the activities he carried out.
Best regards
May God bless you
Yours in Christ
